The JVC GZ-HM550 HD PAL Memory Camcorder provides you with 1920 x 1080 HD recording to a 32GB internal flash memory or to optional SD/SDHC memory cards, for up to 14 hours and 40 minutes of high def recording to either media (32GB card). In addition to HD recording and convenient storage the GZ-HM550 also captures 9.3MP digital stills, and gives you the option of using the AVCHD 24Mbps bit rate.

The HM550 has a 10.6MP back-illuminated CMOS sensor at its core that works in tandem with JVC's Super LoLux. Super LoLux ensures that footage shot in low-light situations is recorded with accurate color reproduction and clarity. Of course the sensor has help capturing all that footage from the Konica Minolta lens, 16x Dynamic zoom, and the Advanced Image Stabilizer. And the camera's Laser Touch Operation LCD provides you with a scroll bar and buttons that let you control the camcorder without having to touch the screen, keeping it free from smudges and fingerprints.

Setting the GZ-HM550 apart from the other HD camcorders in JVC's 2010 lineup is its wireless Bluetooth compatibility. Using a variety of optional accessories you can use Bluetooth to control the camera with your smartphone, track your images using a GPS device, and listen to audio while recording, using a Bluetooth headset. Other user-friendly functions include Time-Lapse REC, Auto REC, and Face Detection with Face Flow Thumbnail. In addition to these features the camera also comes with a remote control, a 2-way grip belt, and compatibility with an optional SHARE STATION DVD burner.
